Development Update

Hey Gamers,

I wanted to write an update, but unfortunately, this one isn't paired with a software. This will be a brief update on where development is, headed, and the trajectory of the project. So if you aren't interested in that, feel free to skip this.

I recently quit my corporate job. I was hoping to have a backup lined up before then, but the state of the world had other plans. At the time of writing this, I am unemployed. This excites me however, as I can better put focus on my side projects, this game included. But not exclusively.

This summer, I plan on moving so I can save money on rent without a steady paycheck. And I must invest a fair amount of my time into looking for a new job (job apps, interview prep, etc.). Nothing is ever easy, and this game won't magically be done now that I have a few extra hours to work on it. I also want to get a few other side projects out of the way in the coming months. This will include 1-2 small game projects and an original TTRPG. I look forward to uploading those to my itch.io page. Once those are complete, I expect to devote a majority of my development time into getting Oswego Quest for the Golden Pin complete.

I'll likely need to seek out open sourced/pre-made paid music options, as I've not been able to make this myself. And I still need to re-design some aspects of the future game design that seem less possible in the current version of the engine than I expected. Everything else should follow more easily than the start of development. I want to get this complete as much as possible. SUNY Oswego is a wonderful campus, and the experiences I had there I'll never forget. I want to share a slice of that with the world.

Thank you for the support. The next post will have an update, I promise.
